925 Sterling Silver Hyottoko Pendant

Hyottoko "fire man"

Folklore depicts Hyottoko with a mask and is believed to bring good fortune.  His character is defined by a drunken face with lips gathered to the side.

It is said, an odd looking man that blew fire from his bamboo pipe could create gold from his belly button.  Thus, if a household lost a family member it was thought to bring good fortune by placing the mask of Hyottoko on top their fireplace.
